对于Windows 8 Beta的发布日期之前存在不少传言，很多人都觉得 微软会在明年1月份的CES 2012大会上发布，不过这些都只是传言，微软初次 透露了Windows 8 Beta的发布日期。
在Windows商店（Windows Store）发布会上，微软Windows Web服务副总裁Antoine Leblond解说 了Windows商店的五大方面，包括设计、平台、商业模式、承受 应用程序的透明条款、经济效益。在大会的最后，Leblond透露，Windows商店将同Windows 8 Beta一同 在2012年2月底正式亮相。这次确信无疑，我们要等到2012年2月才能用上Windows 8 Beta了。
